Safety (including Human Factors) Trainings
SMS (Safety Management System) refers to a systematic approach used by aviation organizations to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with maintenance activities. It is a proactive and integrated approach to safety that aims to enhance safety performance and prevent accidents or incidents.
SMS is an ongoing process that requires commitment and involvement from all levels of the organization. By implementing a robust SMS, maintenance organizations can effectively manage safety risks, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Human Factors play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient aircraft maintenance operations. Aircraft maintenance involves a wide range of tasks, including inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting, all of which require the involvement of skilled technicians and engineers. However, the human element introduces a unique set of challenges that must be carefully addressed to minimize errors and maximize safety.
In respect to the understanding of the application of human factors and human performance issues, all maintenance organisation personnel must receive an Initial and Continuation training which are carried out in accordance with AMC/GM to ANNEX II (PART-145), AMC1 145.A.30(e) & AMC2 145.A.30(e) and ICAO manual “Human Factors in Aviation Maintenance” Doc 9824-AN/450.
